Dr. Sharon Middlebrooks, Owner/Broker Middlebrooks Realty LLC. She began her real estate career in 1983 as a property manager working with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) 221D3, 221D4, and BMIR properties. While working as a property manager she reported directly to the General Manager on the daily operations of 13 complexes with in excess of 1400 units. She also help to create flexible subsidy packages, including Management Improvement for Operations (MIO) Plans for renovations. She has an extensive background in Section 8 Housing, including in-house and portable vouchers, and Low Income Tax Credits.
While serving as local board president for Dallas Association of Realtist, she worked with a Community Development Housing Organization (CHDO) and created Sales opportunities for the membership to sell the Affordable Housing built by the CHDO. Additionally, she used her contacts to secure opportunities for the Dallas, Fort Worth and North Texas NAREB Chapters to participate with the first Bullet Train project in North Texas in the relocation of residents in a Dallas community.
Dr. Middlebrooks is the current President for the Dallas NAACP Branch 6169 –B. She is a Board of Governor and past president of NAREB’s largest affiliate, Women’s Council of NAREB, past president of Texas Association of Real Estate Brokers, Women’s Council of DAREB and Dallas Association of Real Estate Brokers. She has served as the Federal Political Coordinator for her member of Congress, the Honorable Eddie Bernice Johnson for the past five (5) years.
Dr. Middlebrooks is active in her church and is a member of the Heroines of Jericho, Daughters and Golden Assembly. In addition to being a member of the afore organizations, she served eleven (11) years as Administrative Assistant to the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction, PHA and an additional 15 years in the Convention Department for the Prince Hall Masons Southern Jurisdiction. She is a Life Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
She has received numerous awards and accolades for her civic work. She most recently received the prestigious MLK Legacy Award for her Community works.
Dr. Middlebrooks, is a licensed Real Estate Broker, Certified Housing Manager, Certified Occupancy Specialist, Certified Manager of Housing, Accredited Buyers Representative, Freddie Mac’s CreditSmart Instructor. She also holds a 2530 Clearance with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HUD).
