Deborah Bilitski was appointed as the Director of Develop Louisville in April of 2016. Develop Louisville focuses on the full range of land development activities, including planning and design, vacant property initiatives, advanced planning, housing & community development programs, permits and licensing, land acquisition, public art and clean and green sustainable development partnerships. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Louisville School of Law. She began her career in private practice as an attorney focused on land use and real estate, and later practiced at Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs, where she headed the firm’s real estate and lending team. Prior to taking the position as Director of Develop Louisville, Deborah was an Assistant County Attorney providing legal counsel to the Mayor’s Office, Metro Council, and agencies of city government, and previously served as assistant county attorney representing the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment. Deborah has been a frequent speaker on land use issues, and has served on the boards of numerous community organizations, including the Louisville Downtown Management District, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and the Building Industry Association of Louisville.
