Gwendolene Newton Dearborn Real Estate Board

Gwendolene Newton, 42nd President of the Dearborn Realtist Board. Dearborn Realtist chartered 80 years ago in 1941, is the oldest African American Real Estate Trade Association. She has been in Real Estate for 17yrs and her mission in Real Estate is to educate in under resourced, underfunded and hardest hit communities, and mentor families so each can leave a legacy in Homeownership. As the President of the only African America Real Estate Trade Association in Chicago, she is the the chief presiding officer at executive meetings of the organization and the Executive Committee, and in these capacities, the President shall have the authority and duty to represent the organization. The President shall appoint all committee chairpersons, unless otherwise directed by the Board of Directors, and shall be ex-officio member of all committees. As a licensed Real Estate Broker for 17years, she works with clients to purchase, sale or lease property. She has successfully built a team of Real Estate Agents to educate and provide a customer service that cares about their clients in management at Century 21 and Keller Williams franchises. As a former Asset Manager with Federal National Mortgage Association, she was responsible for $150million in portfolio sales. Currently, her team conducts homebuyer education class primarily on the Southside of Chicago or hardest hit areas of Chicago to educate and empower on homeownership and wealth building.
