Nareb Postpones Early HTTC Events and Urges Limitation of Non-Essential Travel

Washington, D.C. – March 6, 2020 – Donnell Williams, NAREB president announced today the postponement of the 2020 House Then the Car (HTTC) Tour events scheduled in March for two California cities.  Widespread health concerns resulting from coronavirus outbreaks prompted the decision for the two event postponements which had been scheduled to take place in Oakland, CA on March 27 and in Los Angeles on March 28.  More re-scheduling details will follow as they become known.

“The health of our members and guests far outweigh any schedule disruption by date changes,”  said President Williams.   The two events marked the kick-off of the 22-city 2020 House Then the Car Tour.  Mr. Williams went on to advise all NAREB members and NAREB Affiliates to restrict or cancel any non-essential travel.  Additionally, he advised the membership to take every precaution possible to restrict the “community spread” of the viral outbreak.

“Sounds simple enough, but washing your hands frequently, keeping high alcohol content wipes handy for use, sneezing or coughing into your elbow area away from others, and being conscious of not touching your face are controllable ways to limit the possibility of community spread or possibly becoming infected,” Williams stated.  Last, but certainly not least, Williams urged everyone to, “Stay at home if you’re experiencing any symptoms.”
